- Using wipeout command you can clean background in a crowded drawing to make overlaying objects clear against the background. In the image shown below Wipeout command has been used to clean the area around the second hook. You can use WIPEOUTFRAME system variable and change its value to 0 to remove wipeout frame boundary also.-DWGUNITS.
- Combine polyline and wipeout - the app groups outer polyline with an internal masking object (wipeout). Spline Processing. Standard mode (recommended) - the app converts mathematical models of splines and ellipses into sets of lines and arcs using the method of piecewise-linear approximation at the stage of outline construction.
- Creates a wipeout object, and controls whether wipeout frames are displayed in the drawing. Find Creates a polygonal area that masks underlying objects with the current background color. The wipeout area is bounded by a frame that you can turn on or off. You can also choose to display the frame on screen and have it hidden for plotting. The following prompts are displayed.
Resolution settings determine the quality of the images produced by the plugin. Line controls how precisely the software will transfer the line vectors from the AutoCAD drawing to the image.; Print will produce a higher-quality, but larger file, while Draft will create a lower-quality, but smaller, file.Draft is best used for electronic communication, while Print should be used if you intend. Program Description. As the title implies, this program enables the user to create circular wipeouts in the drawing. The program offers two commands: cwipe allows the user to specify a center & radius and will construct a circular wipeout from these parameters, with all properties (such as Layer, Linetype, Lineweight etc.) inherited from the current settings in AutoCAD when the program is run.
AutoCad :: Wipeout In Paperspace Doesn't Cover Modelspace Objects?Dec 18, 2012
For a while I've been using Wipeout in paperspace to surround the title block in order for the underlying modelspace objects not to shine through. Suddenly this doesn't work anymore - i.e. modelspace objects are visible no matter what. I've been playing around with the bring to front / send to back commands, but to no avail. I
AutoCAD 2013 :: Wipeout Frame Selection?Jun 3, 2013
i have a question about wipeouts. I have just upgraded to acad 2014 from 2011. Now in 2014, I can turn off wipeout frames, but if my mouse crosses over one, it highlights so I can select it. How do i turn that off? I don't want the frame to highlight unless i select it.
AutoCAD 2013 :: New Wipeout Frame OptionMay 23, 2012
With the new 'Display but not plot' option for Wipeout, I notice that the frame shows when I pass over it and is selectable. Can the frame be off and not selectable/visible, which is how it worked for me previously?
AutoCAD LT :: Hiding Wire Frame When PlottingAug 8, 2013
Autocad Wipeout Frame System Variable
I have a 3D drawing that I am trying to hide the wireframe when I plot a particulat layout, one of several in the drawing. It plotted properly before, but something must have changed as I cannot plot without is comming out transparent (unhidden).
What could have changed, or how I can plot it hidden?
AutoCAD 2010 :: Viewport Hides Model Space Dimensions?Feb 10, 2012
i am haveing trouble with a viewport that is hiding everything that crosses the rectangular border. The viewport is acting just like a wipeout would. I got this drawing from a client and I can't figure out what is wrong with it. I checked to see if there was actually a frame with the viewport but when I select the viewport it only reads as one object.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Selected Image Hides Underlying GeometryJan 11, 2012
When I grip-select an image, or pick it at the 'select objects' prompt, the image hides all other geometry behind it. Troublesome when trying to fine-tune the image(png background) location relative to other entities.
Image transparency on, draworder back, monochrome, image @ 0'-0'Z.
Image looks fine until I pick it.

3ds Max Animation :: Hiding An Object For Just One Frame?Dec 16, 2011
Is there any way to hide an object for just one frame of animation? Actually, I want to hide it for several-- I'm doing renderings for a game, and at one point I want to render the character's hands without the object he's holding.
But when I hide an object, it hides everywhen. How can I say 'this object doesn't appear between frames 17-30?'
AutoCAD 2010 :: Delete Everything Hidden By Wipeout?Oct 12, 2012
I have a drawing & when I pan I can see a lot of extra information hidden by wipeouts.
Any easy way to erase all of that & leave what I can see, without panning, intact?
When I try to copyclip what I can see it grabs everything including the hidden objects.
Unfortunately whoever did the drawing didn't put all the hidden info on one layer.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Hide Wipeout BoundaryOct 7, 2013
I am working with a situation that requires me to block some lines underneath some text, and can't use a background mask because the text is located within a block. I tried to use wipeout, but I don't want the boundries of the wipeout to plot. Is there a way to set the boundries to not plot? I have tried changing the color of my wipeout object to 255, but for some reason I was unable to get that to work (I think that has to do with how my company uses plot styles to handle colors).
AutoCAD 2010 :: Wipeout Won't Hide When PrintedMay 6, 2012

AutoCAD 2010 :: Fields In Modelspace Not UpdatingNov 21, 2013
I have a project where 60 drawings will be duplicated for each of a dozen sites. Each site has a four digit prefix (i.e. 800X) that is added to the drawing number, equipment callouts, leaders and various notes throughout the sheets. Even using Find/Replace, this is a lot of work to revise every time I copy them, so I’m thinking that this is a job for fields, no?
Well, I had no problem making a “global” field called SiteNo and inserting it into the title block. Then I inserted the same field into a couple of references in the general notes as well, where it works fine. But when I put it into several leaders sprinkled throughout the drawing I found a problem: regen or regen all will update the title block and note references (all in paperspace, of course), but not the ones in model space. I’ve tried putting the field in both mtext and dtext, and I’ve checked to be sure FIELDEVAL is set to 31. Nothing makes fields in modelspace update.
But I know that the field is set up correctly. If I doubleclick any modelspace occurance (text or mleader), then right click and choose “update field”, it fills in the right value. This however negates my goal. If I have to select each one, I might as well put it in as text and use FIND/REPLACE on each individual drawing.
I was REALLY hoping that I could go to the properties of the sheet set, change one box, and see all occurrences in all drawings for that site update, which is my understanding of the purpose and power of fields. I've spent a lot of time searching the web, seen a lot of issues and solutions, but nothing that quite hits my problem.
AutoCAD 2010 :: UCS Icon Is Missing In Modelspace?Jun 20, 2012
The AutoCAD deadline-sensor is working well this week as this Project near completion.
The closer we get to the deadline, the more AutoCAD slows down.
My UCS Icon has disappeared from Modelspace.
It's were it belongs in Paperspace.
The USC Icon is set to 'Noorigin' and the color is set to RED for Modelspace.
I need it to orient the many angled spaces we have in this Plan.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Paperspace Plotting In ModelspaceJan 9, 2012
In the plot dialog box the options Plot paperspace last and Hide paperspace objects are only supposed to be available in Paperspace however they show up as checked in some of our drawings when plotting from Modelspace. They should be greyed out then. (see attached) If I copy/paste all objects into a new drawing everything is fine. If I delete all layout tabs the options are still checked when plotting in model space.
The only thing I can figure is there are paperspace entities in my model space or that somehow paperspace is leaking through into modelspace.
AutoCAD 2010 :: VPorts - Modelspace DisappearingJun 28, 2011
I'm having a little problem with the modelspace in a vport disappearing on me.
I am trying to do some B.O.M. work, and sometimes I can't snap to a particular point/object, so I turn osnap off and zoom in to identify the correct object. After a certain point in the zoom the drawing regens and then the modelspace disappears completely.
I tried a regenall, closing the drawing and starting it up again, but it's still not there. I checked the properties and it still says it's a vport. When I double click it to enter modelspace from the vport it doesn't take me into modelspace.
I've checked my maxactvp, that's maxed out at 64. I've run an audit and that didn't work.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Wipeout Command Plots All Black In PDF Format?Mar 7, 2012

AutoCAD 2010 :: Switching Modelspace Viewport ContentsNov 1, 2012

AutoCAD 2010 :: Snapping To Modelspace Objects In Paperspace?May 12, 2009

AutoCAD 2010 :: Moving Paperspace Viewport In Modelspace?Jul 26, 2012
Is there a way to see and move paperspace viewport boundaries in model space?
Explaining: You have created layout which includes multiple viewports with different scale and size (view, section). Now you copy the layout to create a new layout with with same viewports. Now you have to change the view in all viewports. I have used technique where you double-click in viewport and you navigate in modelspace (pan/zoom) until you reach the right position.
The problem is If you have like 100 layouts with 10 viewports each, it takes very long time to pan the views into right position.
I have a some theories:
1. If I could see the viewports in modelspace, I could drag them all into right position without navigating them one-by-on in paperspace.
2. If I could pan the view in viewport by specific amount lets say 10m to the right.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Objects In Modelspace Xref Don't Show In PaperspaceMar 26, 2012
I have a floor plan xreffed into model space, visretain=1 and i can see the room numbers. I switch to paperspace and go to layer properties and highlight all layers and then turn on all layers in he drawing and thaw in all three columns and still the room numbers do not show. The layer listed in model space is on and thawed. Why won't it show?
AutoCAD 2010 :: ModelSpace Crosshairs Wrap From Right Edge To Left?Feb 16, 2012
In ModelSpace, when I drag the crosshairs over to the right edge of the screen, the crosshairs will vanish and reappear on the left side of the screen. This is a major problem: If I am reaching for an object off to the right and overshoot with the mouse a little, the crosshairs will suddenly be way over on the left. But much worse than this, I have a toolbar oriented vertically on the right side of the screen. I literally cannot get to that toolbar because the crosshairs swap over to the left side of the screen, instead of changing over to an arrow cursor to make use of the menus.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Hiding Constraints - How To Keep Them From Turning Back OnJun 7, 2012
I'm trying to find an option to hide all constraints in a drawing, I am familiar with the toolbar option to turn display constraints on and off but my issue is that it's not a permanent toggle. Every time I change from a paper tab to the model tab or activate a viewport the constraint display is automatically turned on again and I must wait for the constraints and the drawing to generate. When playing checker I am frequently changing tabs or checking within a viewport, this is adding significant time required to check the drawing. I have not been able to locate a system variable or command to 'freeze' the constraints until I want to see them again. an option to allow me to turn off constraint displays as I'm desiring or is this a Wish List item for R2014?

AutoCAD 2010 :: Xref Layers Do Not Print Correctly When Hiding LinesOct 24, 2012
I am having an issue with plotting a drawing that includes an xref. I have also included an attachment as reference.
I am working in AutoCAD 2010; I have a drawing that includes another drawing as an xref. The xref is on layer “0” in model space and my titleblock, annotation and viewports are in paper space (layout tab). I am using color dependent plot styles (.STB). The xref is a 3D model created with basic AutoCAD solids representing steel shapes, there are also some line segments representing the steel centerlines. The viewport is a plan view of the 3D steel model, the view is not clipped. Since the xref contains 3D objects when I print the drawing I don't want the “hidden” lines to show up, I accomplish this by setting the viewport shade plot setting to “HIDDEN”.
Here is the problem:
When I print the drawing the xref’s layers do not print correctly but rather take on the properties of layer “0” which has a plot style of “NORMAL” so everything prints in color and with a default lineweight. I want the xref to print using the xref’s layer properties that are defined in the .STB file. One variable that changes the outcome of the printed drawing is the viewport shade plot setting.
If the viewport shade plot is set to HIDDEN the xref prints using layer “0” properties (undesired) and the3D object lines are hidden (desired). See attached Viewport #1
If the viewport shade plot is set to AS DISPLAYED the xref prints using the xref’s layer properties (desired) but the 3D object lines are not hidden (undesired). See attached Viewport #2
The ONLY difference between the two viewports is the shade plot setting, there are no layer overrides and only the xref objects are affected, the objects in paper space print as expected. This only happens with an xref or block. If I bind the xref into the drawing and explode it so the objects are “live” in the drawing everything works fine. Unfortunately I need it to work correctly with an xref.
If I use a color dependent plot style (.CTB) where the .CTB file controls the color and lineweight I am able to achieve the desired results, unfortuneatly my company is determined to use .STB files
AutoCAD 2010 :: Wipeout To Turn Continuous Lines Into Dotted Lines?Apr 23, 2012
I was trying for an option with wipeout mask.
Is there any option with wipeout to turn the continuous lines into dotted lines instead of hiding the object? I have been working on one staircase block, i want to show half block as a dotted lines. is there any way to do that without going in to the block edit and change? thats why am looking for wipeout mask option.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Aligning Objects In Modelspace With Objects In Paperspace?Apr 10, 2012
I'd like to know how to align an object in model space with the edge of my viewport in paperspace.
When I draw, I like to lay out multiple complete drawings in model space, make an appropriately scaled bounding box around them, and then snap a view port to the bounding box in my layout. I usually have multiple drawings lined up in a row in modelspace, so when I want a new layout I do a Save As and then pan around in my viewport to find the next bounding box, at which point I have to resize the viewport to get it to snap to the edges nicely. I really want to be able to to it the otehr way around- while panning I'd like to be able to grab a corner of my modelspace bouding box and snap it to the the corresponding corner of my viewport window. That way making new layouts would be a snap. Is there a way to do this in AutoCAD 2012 LT?
AutoCAD Architecture :: Xref Hides New LineworkFeb 7, 2012
All I want to do is trace on top of an x-ref elevation. The x ref hides all my new lines so I cannot see what I've just drawn. Even the display order has no effect, not that I want to use the display order every time I draw a line. I just want my new black lines to show up on top of the faded xref image.

Autocad Wipeout Settings
I am trying to use the WIPEOUT command to make one object that is in front of another one obscure the one behind it. I have my polyline drawn around the object in question, but I need for things to show through the object where there are holes in the object.
In my specific example, I have a tree. I need three trees in front of one another and some against a wall. I would like for the wall to show through between the branches of the tree. I would like pieces of the trees in the background to show through between the branches of the tree in the foreground. So there are multiple holes in the foreground tree because the leaves and branches are not one solid object. Is this possible?
A more simple example would be if there was an object with only one hole in it..such as a door with a window through it..could the wipeout apply to the door - but still show through the wall or scenery behind that door only where the window is.
