Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10 users
The desktop is located in the directory path below. In the example below, you would replace the (username) part with the name of the user profile you use to log into Windows.

Can't find the desktop directory path
If the desktop is not found at the default location, you can find the current location by following the steps below.
- In Windows 8 and 10, open File Explorer. In Windows 7, click Start, then click Computer.
- In the navigation pane on the left side, right-click on Desktop and select Properties.
- In the Properties window, click the Location tab.
- The directory path to the desktop is displayed in the text field on the Location tab.
Windows 2000, 2003, and XP users
The desktop is located in the directory path below. In the examples below, you would replace the (username) with the name of the profile you use to log into Windows.
